The International Academy for the Brain (iBRAIN-Academy) is one of the largest brain-injury special education programs in the world, headquartered in New York City with current locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Washington, D.C. iBRAIN is expanding to add an out-patient clinic (iBRAIN-Center), as well as growing its research efforts for the brain injury and brain-based disorders community (iBRAIN-Institute), collectively iBRAIN. iBRAIN-Academy’s mission is to research, develop, and implement special education and related services for school-aged (3-21 years of age) students who present with a wide range of impairments due to brain injury and/or brain-based disorders as well as the development of a fully inclusive education model.
Job Description
The Pediatric School-based Nurse (LPN) will be working within a Multi-disciplinary Team to provide 1:1 care to a student who has a brain injury or brain-based disorder and medically-fragile. The students are non-verbal, non-ambulatory and some have a trach, vent and/or g-tube. Most of the students have seizure disorder. Successful attributes include a desire to change the world for millions of children who suffer from brain injuries or brain-based disorders and a strong strategic focus, individual leadership in an environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement, effective communication with key constituents and stakeholders, and accountability for results.
